And I am glad that I am able to view the world objectively, and draw lines between a human life and a bundle of cells with fewer nerve endings than my big toe or perhaps an aggressive tumour. When the day comes that abortion is banned through the actions of poorly coded websites put together by the grandchildren of fellow parishioners, TV commercials written in powerpoint and protests that do little but drive the nut jobs out of the woodwork, I shall personally congratulate you on your efforts. I wish you luck.

And I'm sure convoluted half-truths were used to deny the personhood of Blacks many times as well. You can go off on your little tangents all you like. The fact remains that the baby in the womb is alive and is human, thus a "human being." I'm just glad I recognize this simple fact and will end up on the right side of history. You, on the other hand, will go down as one of the oppressors. One of those who used insufficient justifications to deny the humanity of the weakest and defenseless among us for selfish reasons.

A simple search for "Suicide rate illegal abortion" will yield a plethora of results, most of which come from doctors rather then the biblical scriptures cited by most pro life organizations.
As for the once again stellar comparison you made, this time between someone of African decent and a fetus being considered fully human, you are correct in stating that in the past, Africans were denied the rights of "full humans". When did it become acceptable to consider a human less then human? Most slave owners quoted Genesis 9:25: "Cursed be Canaan! The lowest of slaves will he be to his brothers." Luckily both science and morals have triumphed over biblical scripture on that particular p#@*%!age. The root of the anti-abortion cause can also be found in the bible "And if men struggle with each other and strike a woman with child so that she has a miscarriage, yet there is no further injury, he shall surely be fined as the woman's husband may demand of him;" (Exodus 21:22-23). As one can plainly see, the bible condones considering a human life less than human, while simultaneously considering all life sacred. Since the writing of both p#@*%!ages, we have discovered some interesting things, such as the heart being nothing more than a cardiovascular pump, and the brain being responsible for cognitive functions. Science has proven the humanity of Africans, which I'm sure both you and most of the world would agree with. Science has also proven that a fetus is incapable of even such a simple higher brain function as the perception of pain until the 26th to 34th week of development (because you enjoy citations so much, shall link you to the medical practitioner board of Victoria http://www.dhs.vic.gov.au/ahs/archive/report/report3.htm) The point to this lengthy rebuttal is this; All current law in Canada is based in part on the original book of law, namely the bible. Just as science is able to prove that certain laws considered ethical at the time the bible was written to be unethical(slavery), science is able to prove ethical what was once considered to be unethical(abortion). You may believe what ever you see fit to believe, but to force your beliefs on others and attempt to overwrite science with dated morals and ethics makes you no better then those that take the freedom of others.

1) I would chose to punish the abortionist for actually killing the child. When abortion was illegal, women were rarely or ever punished for the act. I suspect the same will occur after it is criminalized again.

2) Please cite your "fact" that suicide rates increase where abortion in the case of rape is illegal. Even if true, the fact that people who kill other people kill themselves because of it is not sufficient justification for legalizing the killing in the first place.

3) You want facts?

a) Life begins at conception. Abortion terminates an existing life.
b) The people, the courts, the politians have all been wrong before. Remember when we determined that Africans were "less than fully human" and "non-persons"? Remember when we said that women were non-persons? Well guess what, we are making the same mistake again when it comes to children in the womb.
c) Abortion is legal throughout all nine months of pregnancy in Canada for any reason or no reason at all.
d) There is no difference between a "human being" and a "person." They are one in the same.

I do appreciate your counter argument, however the flaws in it are so blatant, I will have to address them on a point by point basis.
1)You state that you do not understand the principle I am appealing to. Clearly that is the case, as I am not appealing to any principle, I am simply stating a fact, that a woman who wants an abortion will get one, one way or another regardless of the illegality. How would you choose to punish a woman who got an illegal abortion? Force her to adopt a child?
2)You then go on to state that rape will always happen. A sad but unfortunate truth. Although I find it interesting that you would bring up rape in an abortion forum, as rape is the largest argument used against your cause. The withholding of abortions from rape victims would change nothing aside from a spike in the suicide rate, an historically proven fact.
3)Laws are in place to protect innocent victims from unjust acts. The definition of victim is as follows "a person who suffers from a destructive or injurious action or agency: a victim of an automobile accident." The key word in that definition is person. Despite your arguments, Canadians have decided through the governing process that person hood does not occur at conception.
4)Government exists to protect society as a whole, the protection of individuals is simply an obvious extension of this core goal. As a result, laws are frequently enacted that protect or fail to protect those that commit unjust acts, but benefit society as a whole, in fact the entire notion of the corporation is based on protecting the maker of decisions from the legal implications of that decision.
I look forward to a rebuttal, may I recommend the inclusion of factual information to better support it?

Hey, Since defragging the disk won't do much to improve Windows XP performance, here are 23 suggestions that will. Each can enhance the performance and reliability of your customers' PCs. Best of all, most of them will cost you nothing. 1.) To decrease a system's boot time and increase system performance, use the money you save by not buying defragmentation software -- the built-in Windows defragmenter works just fine -- and instead equip the computer with an Ultra-133 or Serial ATA hard drive with 8-MB cache buffer. 2.) If a PC has less than 512 MB of RAM, add more memory. This is a relatively inexpensive and easy upgrade that can dramatically improve system performance. 3.) Ensure that Windows XP is utilizing the NTFS file system. If you're not sure, here's how to check: First, double-click the My Computer icon, right-click on the C: Drive, then select Properties. Next, examine the File System type; if it says FAT32, then back-up any important data. Next, click Start, click Run, type CMD, and then click OK. At the prompt, type CONVERT C: /FS:NTFS and press the Enter key. This process may take a while; it's important that the computer be uninterrupted and virus-free. The file system used by the bootable drive will be either FAT32 or NTFS. I highly recommend NTFS for its superior security, reliability, and efficiency with larger disk drives. 4.) Disable file indexing. The indexing service extracts information from documents and other files on the hard drive and creates a "searchable keyword index." As you can imagine, this process can be quite taxing on any system.The idea is that the user can search for a word, phrase, or property inside a document, should they have hundreds or thousands of documents and not know the file name of the document they want. Windows XP's built-in search functionality can still perform these kinds of searches without the Indexing service. It just takes longer. The OS has to open each file at the time of the request to help find what the user is looking for. Most people never need this feature of search. Those who do are typically in a large corporate environment where thousands of documents are located on at least one server. But if you're a typical system builder, most of your clients are small and medium businesses. And if your clients have no need for this search feature, I recommend disabling it. Here's how: First, double-click the My Computer icon. Next, right-click on the C: Drive, then select Properties.Uncheck "Allow Indexing Service to index this disk for fast file searching." Next, apply changes to "C: subfolders and files," and click OK. If a warning or error message appears (such as "Access is denied"), click the Ignore All button. 5.) Update the PC's video and motherboard chipset drivers. Also, update and configure the BIOS. For more information on how to configure your BIOS properly,see this article on my site. 6.) Empty the Windows Prefetch folder every three months or so. Windows XP can "prefetch" portions of data and applications that are used frequently. This makes processes appear to load faster when called upon by the user. That's fine. But over time, the prefetch folder may become overloaded with references to files and applications no longer in use. When that happens, Windows XP is wasting time, and slowing system performance, by pre-loading them. Nothing critical is in this folder, and the entire contents are safe to delete. 7.) Once a month, run a disk cleanup. Here's how: Double-click the My Computer icon. Then right-click on the C: drive and select Properties. Click the Disk Cleanup button -- it's just to the right of the Capacity pie graph -- and delete all temporary files. 8.) In your Device Manager, double-click on the IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers device, and ensure that DMA is enabled for each drive you have connected to the Primary and Secondary controller. Do this by double-clicking on Primary IDE Channel. Then click the Advanced Settings tab. Ensure the Transfer Mode is set to "DMA if available" for both Device 0 and Device 1. Then repeat this process with the Secondary IDE Channel. 9.) Upgrade the cabling. As hard-drive technology improves, the cabling requirements to achieve these performance boosts have become more stringent. Be sure to use 80-wire Ultra-133 cables on all of your IDE devices with the connectors properly #@*%!igned to the matching Master/Slave/Motherboard sockets. A single device must be at the end of the cable; connecting a single drive to the middle connector on a ribbon cable will cause signaling problems. With Ultra DMA hard drives, these signaling problems will prevent the drive from performing at its maximum potential. Also, because these cables inherently support "cable select," the location of each drive on the cable is important. For these reasons, the cable is designed so drive positioning is explicitly clear. Hey Braden;

I don't understand the principle you appeal to. Men get hurt committing rape all the time and rape will always happen. This doesn't mean we should legalize it and open up clinics where men can choose rape safely.

We are supposed to enact laws to protect the innocent victims (the unborn) from an unjust act (abortion). We don't enact, or fail to enact, laws in order to protect those who would commit the unjust act.

Abortions have been occurring for as long as people have been getting pregnant, and they will continue to happen for as long as people have sex. If they were made illegal, people would simply revert to preforming them at home or travelling abroad to have the procedure preformed. Does that sound safe?

Totally disagree with picketing of the hospital in the effort to spread the "pro-life" message. Everyone may as well be holding signs saying "i have nothing better to do with my time then waste it here".

I thinking that your commercials on the beating heart thing to try and scare people is ridiculous! So your saying that some one raped or a child in high school makes a mistake HAS to have the child. First the emotional/physical stress and depression inflicted on the mother. Secondly what kind of wonderful life will the baby have? If the forced mother does raise it, her life is over and the child's life would be a robbed from having a full attention and not be a MISSTAKE. That fact that you picket(which looks childish) and push "your thoughts" on to others is discusting. How would you like it if someone made your LIFE decision? Shouldn't you be allowed to life your life free and how you want and not be told to be like everyone else and conform? I think people who force their thoughts on how anyone should run anyone elses life is practicly Hitler! As well with being a biologist, I would like to know where you get your facts from because they are VERY wrong! If you are worried about that m#@*%! of diploid cells then you should save every sperm and egg generated! What about bugs and animals, should I watch my step everywhere I go so I dont step on an ant? Do you know would people are allowed to go hunting? To keep animal populations in control so that a chain reaction doesn't exploade and over all loss species. Isn't it wrong for people from the church to push their beliefs on others anyway? Shouldn't people have the freedom to think on their owe, it is their life isn't it? NOT YOURS!!!!

P.S. there is no such place as hell, and if there is, it will be a hell lot better then all the conformers with their heads in the clouds :)
